The Banner- South Seminole Heights’ Quarterly Newsletter
The Banner was originally created shortly after our association was chartered in 1997. For many years the banner was delivered to households throughout South Seminole Heights to help keep the community connected to what was going on in the area. When the economy tanked around 2007 The Banner was suspended as advertising declined and the economy worsened. No longer able to support the costs of printing, the newsletter essentially was suspended. In 2014 the new board committed to bring back The Banner and worked diligently to secure advertising and grants to pay for printing. It was revived in 2015 and for 3 years neighbors volunteered to deliver it to households every quarter. In 2018, as advertising support increased, the SSHCA Board decided to move to having it delivered by USPS to assure every household and business is guaranteed their issue gets delivered. Today, The Banner is the only city newsletter still printed and delivered to everyone household and business in their neighborhood’s boundaries.
